Other Than Where You Are (or 3 Little Coons)

Copyright by P. R. Lowe, July 28, 2015
I spotted three baby coons perched precariously on a tiny, swaying branch. Below them on the ground, there was perceived danger…predators. I watched long after the danger was gone…..it grows dark and they are still there, clinging to the branch. I go to bed with them in my thoughts. They could fall and it would be done…..they could crawl to safety and it would be done….either way they are okay……it’s the hanging on the branch that sucks…that excruciating moment of indecision, fear, uncertainty, and longing for something other than where you are. I pained for their plight in my heart….knowing it full well….to let go or claw your way back…..
